Alkraft’s Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) are fully integrated smart systems that provide cooling or heating on demand.

Alkraft’s range of Battery Thermal Management Systems are designed to ensure that EV batteries are maintained within their optimal operating temperature range, irrespective of the ambient environment. The temperature of lithium-ion batteries is a crucial factor in maximizing battery performance, enhancing safety, and extending its usable life. The operation of the BTMS is controlled, monitored and regulated by its control unit, which manages the cooling or heating levels dynamically based on real-time data, driving conditions, and ambient temperature.

Alkraft’s range consists of Smart BTMS catering to applications that demand cooling capacity from 3kW to 12kW. They are fully integrated plug-and-play systems that connect to the vehicle master control unit through a CAN 2.0 interface. The system includes a range of heat transfer components apart from the BTMS control unit, sensors and actuators, and wiring and hoses. The heat transfer components of the BTMS may include the Compressor, Condenser, Filter, Thermal Expansion Valves, Chiller, Coolant Tank and Coolant Pump. The BTMS performs its thermal management functions through a Cold Plate which is an external heat exchanger in physical contact with the battery surface.

Alkraft offers specification development, design and manufacturing for BTMS for Electric Vehicles, as well as for energy storage and power backup applications.
